Priddys Hard Museum ::

Details
This unique site overlooking the historic harbour at Portsmouth - home of the British navy - is to house a comprehensive new display of naval armaments dating from Nelson's time right up to the present day. Humidity throughout the building has to be monitored and controlled so that the exhibits are kept in top condition. Prefect Controls were invited to assist with the design of a heating and control system for the reception and shop area, cafeteria and toilets that would complement the computerised Building Management System controlling the main exhibition halls. The 4000 Series mains signalling system proved the ideal solution.

Simple electric panel heaters have been programmed to respond to digital signals carried on the mains network from the central console sited in the electrical control room. Each heater has local temperature and humidity sensors to ensure that correct levels are maintained at all times; because requirements are so precise it is imperative that settings are not interfered with by visitors, hence security codes built into the programme play an important role in protecting the effectiveness of the installation. The 4000 Series has proved itself to be the perfect partner to a sophisticated Building Management System in this prestige installation.
