Steeped in history , Oxford remains an international centre of intellectual excellence. Trinity College is situated in splendid grounds where the students and fellows alike can reflect on the centuries of history in every building. This wonderful building presented a special challenge for Prefect Controls when we were asked to provide a control solution for the heating of 47 study bedrooms, some of which were to be the term-time home for the Fellows of the College.
First, off-peak load had to be 'weather compensated' - this was achieved with the use of the Prefect PRE7101 Charge optimiser, and secondly the on-peak consumption through the fans and other direct acting elements had to be controlled so that excessive temperatures were avoided, and also valuable heat could not be wasted by heating unoccupied rooms - this was achieved with the use of pre-programmed electronic touch activated thermostats - PRE5000. |
