The Atlantic Hotel was completed in late 1998. Its bold external architecture is reflected in the clean sharp lines of the internal décor. The hotel's renowned brasserie restaurant is a popular lunch stop for Chelmsford's business community, whilst local residents enjoy the Mediterranean feel in the evening for cocktails or a la carte dining. Situated west of the town centre opposite the world famous Marconi Buildings, The Atlantic offers convenience as well as good value for money, essential ingredients for a successful hotel in today's competitive market-place. Controlling costs are always a top priority, and as heating bills represent a significant proportion of the running cost it was essential that close attention was paid to the heating at the planning stage. Prefect Controls worked closely with the owner as well as the developer and the architect to provide the solution which satisfied the comfort of the guests whilst also remaining in keeping with the ambience of the hotel.
As room heating was to be by electric panel heaters, Prefect suggested the versatile PIR activated electronic Thermostat - PRE5100, this programmable unit has proved extremely useful in keeping rooms at just the right temperature; its ability to pre-set an upper limit - anywhere up to 30ºC, as well as preventing the room getting too cold with that musty, damp feeling when unoccupied by controlling a lower temperature - between 5'C and 19'C. The higher temperature is achieved when the PIR sensor detects movement in the room. So the PRE5100 is always monitoring the room to ensure the guest is perfectly comfortable. This simple and effective unit can also be applied to wet systems together with the Prefect PRE9500 radiator valve. You can see why the Prefect PRE5100 has proved a winner with hotels all over the UK. |
