The Problem

Controlling the temperature and hot water for each room using a hotel management program operated at reception

The Solution

The PRE2000 Central Control

Story

Set a part from the hustle and bustle of Newquay on its own rugged promontory, The Headland Hotel overlooks Cornwall’s Fistral beach, the UK’s surfing capital. Its iconic building exudes and irresistible blend of Victorian grandeur and casual luxury. It is an important part of the stunning coastline on which it stands.

Its reputation for quality is second to none, with each of the rooms and cottages being kept in an excellent condition. The size and age of the building meant that space and water heating each of the rooms had to be carefully monitored, ensuring that costs and energy wastage were kept as low as possible.

Working closely with the hotel and the maintenance engineer, the expert team at Prefect Control advised that the PRE2000 central control system would satisfy the hotel’s demanding control requirements, while also avoiding uneconomic costs.

Another important element of the PRE2000 is that it links to into the front-of-house ‘booking program’, enabling the system to anticipate arrivals and raise temperatures in occupied rooms. The PRE2000 took only a short time to set in motion, with no disruption to the smooth working of the hotel. Installation involved no pilot wiring, so final commissioning was completed in just one day.
